Gauri Tritiya

This Vrat is very powerful and observed by especially ladies for getting good luck by Maa Gauri the wife of Lord Shiva.

Gauri Tritiya Puja has special significance in Hindu religion. On the day, women worship Goddess Parvati. This festival is celebrated in South and Western part of India like Karnataka and Maharashtra. The Goddess will be invoked on this day. This fast is observed on the third day of Shukla Paksha of Magh month. This fast observed on Shukla Tritiya is observed to obtain the immense blessings of Shiva and Goddess Parvati.

Sometimes it happens that despite all the efforts of the person, either the marriage does not take place or there is a delay in the marriage or after the marriage, there are continuous ups and downs in the marriage life. To overcome all these problems, man tries many types of remedies, tricks, totkes etc. But unable to find the right solution. In that case worship of Lord Umapati Mahadev and Mother Gauri. In this Tritiya Puja, basically women do special puja of Mata Gauri. Gauri Tritiya Puja comes in Shukla Paksha in Magh month every year.

Gauri Tritiya fast is observed on Tritiya Tithi of Shukla Paksha that’s why it is named as Gauri Tritiya which is also known as “Gangaur”. It is best to start the fast of Gauri Tritiya from Tritiya of Chaitra Shukla Paksha i.e. Gangaur, otherwise you can start it from Tritiya of any Shukla Paksha. If someone does this fasting heartly and worship of Maa Gauri they will get blessings of Mother Gauri and enjoy happy and prosperous married life.

How to Worship Gauri Tritya?

Puja Items Required:

• Ghee lamp, incense,dhoop, new or fresh red or yellow clothes,
• Asan to sit,
• Five any seasonal fruits, some sweets for naivedya,
• Panch Meva (dry fruits),
• 5 any seasonal flowers but red and yellow should be there,
• Sandalwood, kumkum, haldi, moli, kalawa, Ganga water, Panchamrit, durva grass, Akshat, ber leaves, bael leaves, camphor and
• One Rudraksh rosary for jap,
• Mata shringar items.

How to Start Gauri Tritiya fasting? Method.

• On this day, wake up before sunrise.
• Mix Ganga water in bathing water and take bath.
• Install a Kalash first, then install the idol or photo of Lord Shankar and Mother Gauri or Shiv Parivar on a chowki.
• Light a ghee lamp in front of them and also light an incense lamp.
• After take some water and rice in your plam, then do Sankalp that why you are doing this Vrat and Puja?
• Take some flowers and askhat(mind it: Akshat should be raw not boiled or steamed rice many boiled white rice selling in the market) and do Avahan of Mata Gauri and Lord Shiva.
• Offer “Snan Abhishek” like “Ghee Snan”, “Madhu(Honey) Snan”, “Sharkara(Sugar) Snan”, “Dadhi Snan”, “Panchamrit Snan”, “Gandhoykt Snan(Mix rose water, Ganga water, Tulsi, any natural flower essence, sandal wood paste, turmeric)”, and finally offer “Shudhodyok Snan(plain water with Ganga Jal)”.
• Do “Ganesh Pujan”, this mandatory without Ganesh Pujan Mata Gauri Puajn will not be successful.
• After that offer tilak with sandalwood, haldi paste, kumkum to Lord Shankar and Mother Gauri.
• Offer white clothes to Lord Shankar and yellow clothes to Mother Gauri.
• Then offer flowers and Mata Shringar items.
• Offer a garland of red and yellow flowers to Lord Shankar and Mother Gauri.
• After that, offer Ghee lamp, scented insense, then
• Offer five fruits, and then naivedya sweets etc. After that take Kashma Yachna
• After this, apologize to the Mother that in my life and foolishness I have not been able to worship you, I have made any mistake in the worship and she will forgive me. This is mandatory. Then, share your wish with Mother Gauri as you wished.
• Take some Gamphor, cardamom, clove and then do Aarti of Mata Gauri and Shiv Ji.
• Now, seat on the asan, and before chanting, remember Ganesh Ji, Shiv Ji then do Sankalp and Viniyog for Jap. Finally, start chanting the following mantra of Maa Gauri
