What is Amavasya?
The vegetation date or day starts before the lunar day. According to the Sanatan calendar, there are 30 dates consisting of 30 days. After the first week of Shukla Paksha, Purnima Tithi comes after Chaturdashi, while after the next week of Krishna Paksha, Purnima Tithi comes after Krishna Paksha. After Amavasya, the new moon date called Pratipada or Prathama exists at 12 angular degrees after the moon rises. On Amavasya date, the moon completely disappears and is not visible in the sky. So, I hope the sky appears completely black or dark as you might have noticed. This is due to the moonset followed by its rotation according to the transit period.
