What is Sankashti Chaturthi

Sankashti Chaturthi, also known as Sankashti Chaturthi (संकष्टी चतुर्थी), is a holy day dedicated to Lord Ganesha celebrated in every lunar month of the Hindu calendar. This day is the fourth day of Krishna Paksha. On Sankashti Chaturthi, devotees observe strict fast. They break the fast after sighting the moon before worshipping Lord Ganesha at night.

Who Should do Saknkashti Chaturthi?

It is believed that when someone is in such a difficult situation and all his relations are broken, then by observing this fast, bad times go away and good times come. This removes all kinds of obstacles and problems in life. On this day people read "Ganesh Atharvashirsha (गणेश अथर्वशीर्ष)" to get the blessings of Lord Ganesha quickly. In some cases it is seen that observing this fast with reverence and devotion has the ability to remove obstacles and give blessings. The story is recited during the evening puja, followed by offering of sweets and fruits to Lord Ganesha. The devotee has to observe a fast for the entire day.
