Know about Skandamata
Skandmata is the fifth form among the Navadurga forms of Mahadevi. Her name Skanda means Kartikeya and Mata means mother. It means the mother of Kartikeya. Skandamata as one of the Navadurgas is worshiped on the fifth day of Navratri.
The form of Skandamata
Skandamata is four-armed, three-eyed and rides a lion. One of her hands is in the Abhayamudra position which removes fear while in the other hand she holds the infant form of her son Skanda in her lap. Her remaining two hands usually hold lotus flowers. Her complexion is fair, and because she is often depicted sitting on a lotus, she is sometimes called "Padmasani". Maa Skandamata Puja Vidhi.
It is believed that he bestows the devotees with salvation, power, prosperity and treasure. She can provide immense knowledge even to the illiterate if he worships her. Skandamata, who is as bright as the Sun, fulfills all the wishes of her devotees. One who is selflessly devoted to Him attains all the achievements and treasures of life. By worshiping Skandmata the heart of the devotee becomes pure.
Benefits of Worshiping Skandamata
While worshiping Mahadevi Skandamata, the devotee should have complete control over his senses and mind. Her worship is ultimately conducive to salvation. She is regularly referred to as the "Goddess of Fire". He should free himself from worldly bonds and worship Him with single-minded devotion. Worshiping them gives double the results. When the devotee worships her, her son Lord Skanda is automatically worshiped in his lap. Thus, the devotee receives the blessings of Lord Skanda as well as the blessings of Skandamata. If a devotee worships her selflessly, the Mother blesses him with strength and prosperity. Devotees who worship Skandamata shine with divine radiance.
Skandamata and Vishuddhi chakra
Mother Skandamata is associated with the Heart Chakra or Vishuddhi Chakra, which represents love, compassion and understanding. Vishuddhi Chakra, also known as the Throat Chakra, is the center of purification and balance in the body and mind. It is located in the neck at the level of the thyroid gland. Only a Kundalini practitioner can know this vidya well.
