Who is Babu Jagjivan Ram

Babu Jagjivan Ram who was born on 5 April 1908. His birthday is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Babu Jagjivan Ram Jayanti, which is celebrated every year on 5 April. It is a regional holiday that is of great importance in the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

His Political Life Journey

There are many aspects to the life of Babu Jagjivan Ram. One of them is his invaluable contribution to the development of parliamentary democracy in India. At the age of 28, he was nominated a member of the Bihar Legislative Council in 1936.

When elections were held in 1937 under the Government of India Act 1935, Babuji was elected MLA unopposed as a candidate of the Depressed Class League.

Babuji served the country as Labor Minister in the first Lok Sabha formed under the leadership of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in the year 1946 and graced the Congress cabinet for the next three decades.

Jagjivan Ram was a True and Honest Patriot

Gandhiji somewhere said, 'Jagjivan Ram is pure and truthful like Tapa Kanchan. My heart is full of respectful admiration towards him.' The game of puppet government was over and Congress formed the government. Babu Jagjivan Ram was a true and good honest patriot. He has contributed a lot to his country.
