Mahagauri(महागौरी) is the eighth Shakti of Maa Durga, she is worshiped on the 8th day of Navratri. Mother Parvati died completely penniless to get Shiva. On this day, Lord Shiva became pleased with his penance and fulfilled his man's wish and showed him the beauty of Varna. She was so beautiful that she was known by the name of Mahagauri. Because of her fair complexion she is called Mahagauri. He is worshiped on the day of Ashtami. Many people also perform Kanya Puja on this day. Mother Mahagauri is pleased with this mantra, armor and Stotra. On this day, Kanya Pujan and Kanya Bhoj have special significance. According to mythology, at the age of sixteen, Goddess Shailputri was very beautiful and was blessed with fair complexion. Due to her fair complexion, she is known as Goddess Mahagauri. By offering coconut as Prasad to Goddess Mahagauri, man becomes free from sins and enjoys various types of material pleasures. In her worship, the mantra “ॐ देवी महागौरीः नमः “should be chanted. It is believed that by worshiping Mahagauri with the method mentioned below, even impossible tasks become possible, all sins are destroyed, happiness and good fortune are attained and every wish is fulfilled.
