Goddess Katyayani is one of the sixth Navadurga, who is known by the name Mahishamardini. The foremost among Navadurga is mother Katyayani. A form of Goddess Parvati and is worshiped during Navratri. She is also worshiped for the purpose of early and timely marriage of the girl or boy. Katyayani Devi had killed the demon Mahisahasur. Goddess Katyayani is also called Maha Shakti and Mahadurga. It is related to red color.
Astrologers say, when there is Mangal Dosh, Rahu Dosh, Angarak Dosh in the horoscope then by worshiping Mother Katyayani, the negative effects of all these dosh will be removed.
