About Telugu New Year 2025

It marks the beginning of the New Year in the old calendar. The Telgu New Year is celebrated on the first day of the “Chaitra” month. In most Hindu calendars, which are based on the luni-solar calendar, this is a very important day and is also celebrated as Vikram Samvat and Indian New Year.

The new year celebration known as Ugadi, is mainly prevalent in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. In Maharashtra and Karnataka, the same day is celebrated as Gudi Padwa and Yugadi respectively.
